Crevasse Moraine & Skeetawk

I hiked with my friend Pam and our two dogs at Crevasse Moraine Trails today. We were trying to find where the Mooseberry Mesa Trail loops back to the others, but the tracks we were following ended just before the powerline that runs basically from the college to the landfill. We backtracked and found more tracks leading down the hill. They were correct because we did find a small trail marker. But they quickly ended and there was no way to tell where we needed to go. So we retraced our steps back to the Mooseberry Mesa trailhead sign. The snow was getting pretty slushy and after awhile it felt like walking on loose sand. We covered 5.4 miles and had a couple of tired dogs when we got back to the car

My original plan for today was to climb Lazy Mountain with my other friend, Jodi in the afternoon. But the weather didn't look too great and the snow was really getting slushy. Jodi wanted to go ski at Skeetawk after our climb but we realized we wouldn't have time. So we both decided to just go ski at Skeetawk. It was the last Friday evening of the season, so we met up there. I Ski Patrolled, but we were able to ski together for the 4 hours. The skiing was wonderful, as spring skiing so often is.
