It was kind of cloudy and windy but at least not raining. I wanted to get a little exercise and get Bella out for a short hike. We hiked the steep 1.5 mile trail up the Butte. Most of it is a wooden staircase, which helps with the steepness. Bella seemed very happy to be hiking. The were a few other dogs and people so I had to scoop her up occasionally when we passed other dogs. When she is off leash, she is very friendly to other dogs. But leashes are really required on this busy trail. On her leash she turns into the Tasmanian Devil and acts like she wants to pick a fight with every dog, regardless of how big they are. We spent some time on top just enjoying the view of the valley below and the Knik Glacier in the distance. We ran most of the way down. It's always a fun little hike and a good strength building workout. Plus I love the view from the top.
