I skied up to Independence Mine on my classic cross-country skis. I normally ski or hike with my friend Pan on Fridays, but she was not available today. So, it was just Bella and me. In fact, we were the only ones up there at all. We climbed up to the mine buildings and explored a little. Then I enjoyed a nice smooth ride down while Bella ran after me. Only a little over 2 miles round trip, but it was nice to get up high where I could look out at the mountains beneath the heavy gray clouds above us.
