It was very windy here in Palmer so Mark and I decided to take my canoe and look for calmer waters. I drove us up to Beyers Lake and we spent a few hours paddling around in some of the calmest water I've ever seen there. First we crossed the lake then worked our way up Beyers Creek until the current and the bugs got to be more work than fun. There were quite a few other people out on the lake in kayaks. That is to be expected for July 4th weekend. It was pretty cloudy so we weren't able to get the nice views of Denali and the Alaska Range that makes that place so spectacular. But it was so nice just being out on the water.
